New investment in pancreatic cancer research

Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt has announced $20.3 million to implement the National Pancreatic Cancer Roadmap   - a national, coordinated approach to improving outcomes and survival for Australians affected by pancreatic cancer.

As part of the initiative, the roadmap has identified key priority areas and strategies for action over the next five years. This includes $6 million of Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) funding for involvement in international collaborative clinical trials through the MRFF Clinical Trials Activity Initiative.

As Amplia prepares to initiate a Phase II trial of AMP945 in pancreatic cancer patients, we welcome news of this investment. Targeted government funding at the clinical trials stage will mean that promising new therapies that improve patient outcomes will be prioritised, potentially accelerating their availability to patients in need.
